Bug#693756: yet another installation

yet another thinkpad edge e135 i set up...

* installer version used was wheezy release (7.0) mini.iso, dd'd onto a
  usb stick.
* this time, bios instead of efi was configured for the device. bios
  version is 2.50.
* a standard installation was chosen, with the most exotic thing being
  crypto-lvm guided partitioning.
* installation itself went flawlessly, apart from the usb stick grub
issue (bug 706112) that seems to be well-known and will be fixed in
  debian 7.1
* first startup without any non-free packages worked well into gnome3
startup (but with fallback due to lack of 3d acceleration). the screen
froze after logout, i had to ctrl-alt-f1 / ctrl-alt-delete to reboot.
  no further investigation.
* after installing linux-firmware-nonfree (ie. radeon firmware), 3d
worked, and no more screen freezes were observed.
* the nonfree wireless drivers were installed from ubuntu again, this
time using the current saucy package[1].

not particular to this installation, but a general recommendation when
working on an e135: the hdmi sound output works -- provided the audio
parameter is set to 1 in the radeon module. the easiest way to do this
is to append radeon.audio=1 to the kernel command line.

best regards
