Comments/Problems:

Installer booted fine, was able to configure network/setup users,
etc., without a problem. When partitioning, I chose to partition with
the default layout, which then failed with the error:
'The ufs file system creation in partition #1 of ATA1 (ad0) failed.'

cat'ing /var/log/syslog says:
'partman: mkfs.ufs:
partman: /dev/ad0s1: could not find special device'

ls /dev/, however, shows:
ad0
ad0s1
ad0s2
ad0s5

I see a semi-related bug report:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=610885

which suggests disabling swap, but this did not help for me. I also
tried manually partitioning and making the swap partition a primary
rather than logical partition, but this too did not help.

Cheers,
Austin

thanks

Hi,

thanks for submitting installation reports, much appreciated!

I've closed the ones which either have been dealt with or which are very old /
have little information and which probably have been fixed by now. If you
still encounter problems installing Debian/kfreebsd please submit a new bug
report.

cheers,
	Holger
