When using this preseed file:

http://mister-muffin.de/debian/preseed.txt

after the "Install the base system" step this appears and interrupts the
installation, prompting for user input:

Also notice the wrong menu entries.

The same error happens with more minimal preseed files.

It turns out that the problem only occurs when having:

d-i mirror/suite string sid
d-i mirror/udeb/suite string sid

When choosing wheezy instead, everything is fine.

I gathered debug output with the DEBCONF_DEBUG=developer option and with
this preseed file:

(which will produce the following interrupting main menu:

Here is the syslog from the point where the menu appeared:
