Interesting - there is a growing list of models in the i915 driver
that need the brightness control inverted.

Please test the kernel package from experimental
(linux-image-3.8-trunk-amd64), and if the brightness control is still
wrong then report this at https://bugs.freedesktop.org under product
'DRI', component 'DRM/Intel'.

You should specify the model of computer you are using, and the output
of:
    grep . /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id/{bios,board,product,sys}_*
so that this model can be detected properly.

Let us know the bug number so we can track it.
