I didn't notice originally that you were installing Debian 6.0.  The
installer for 6.0 doesn't support WPA, so only open and WEP wireless
networks can be used for installation.

(This Realtek chip doesn't appear to need a firmware patch.)

OK, so the same drivers as we have (which is not surprising), but maybe
slightly newer.

Do either of the network interfaces work for you in the installed
system?
