Some tests with a PowerBook PowerPC G3

Hi all,
in these days I'm doing some tests on a PowerBook G3, I keep this
notebook just to do this work when I have some spare time.

All tests' results are bad.
1) using stable installer, in the readme.txt I read: Debian GNU/Linux
   6.0.6 "Squeeze" - Official powerpc NETINST Binary-1 20120930-16:01 at
the end of base-install I see a core dump. I was able to see it
switching to console 4 while debootstrap was runnig, but I was not
able to see what core dumped. I also tried to lower debconf priority,
stop before the base-install, switch to console 3, run deboostrap
from command line and it completes without problems. So the problem
is in the next step. How can I debug it?
2) using a daily built, yesterday build to be precise, the test stops at
kernel module loading time, apparently installer kernel is 3.2.0-3
while on cdrom in /pool/main/l/linux-latest/ I see:
linux-image-powerpc_3.2+46_powerpc.deb. I'm not sure I checked in the
right place for the kernel that is going to be installed. Either way
d-i is complaining that loaded kernel and archive kernel are not
equal and then installation stopped. What can I do to to help in
solving this problem? Is some one else trying d-i on powerpc?

Bye
Stefano
