The problem of missing vio_type binary is already tracked in
http://bugs.debian.org/678264, so no further action is required.
Today I've received a report from another user who was confused by the
tg3 driver prompting for firmware, so it looks like it would be
beneficial to modify "Devices Requiring Firmware" section of the
installation guide. In particular, We should include a note there
that for some devices firmware may not be necessary, even though a
firmware prompt is displayed. Broadcom devices using tg3 drivers may
be mentioned as an example of such behavior. The pages

might be worth mentioning.
