Tabu? No idea, but you have to discuss that with maintainers of package installation utilities, not Debian Installer developers. Personal advice: as I don't understand anything to your suggestions, you might want to develop a little further what you're thinking about. Personal advice 2: it's like 20 years that distros are trying to solve things related to dependencies. I think the current situation is not that bad. Of course, dependencies mightt very well be wrong in some packages, making you think that the whole dependency system is wrong. It is not. Problems should be reported in packages that implement wrong dependencies.Attachment: signature.asc
