Package: debian-installer Version: 7.0 beta1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? - download debian installer 7.0 beta1 i386 netinst iso - download hd-media boot.img.gz - download firmware tarball and extract it - zcat boot.img.gz on a USB drive - add the iso - add the firmware/ directory - boot the USB drive containing the installer on an IBM ThinkPad X200 * What was the outcome of this action? The installer gets stuck at network hardware detection: only the title is displayed, nothing happens for more than half an hour. Last message in the console log is: mount: sending ioctl 5310 to a partition! * What outcome did you expect instead? Get the choice of which network hardware to use or get an error message explaining what happens. Cheers

This is bug #683690 in mountmedia, fixed since D-I beta 1. A workaround: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=681656#35Attachment: signature.asc
