Bug#680168: update
I've installed Debian 5 on the same hardware with the same RAID1
configuration without issue. I can then upgrade to Debian 6.
However, upon upgrade to Debian 6, i found the system hangs after
warnings on the console about disabling DMA.
Debian5 also printed warnings to the console about disabling DMA, but
the system keeps running, no hang.
So, after installing Debian5, i use hdparm to set the disks to udma3 and
then upgrade to Debian6. no more issues.
I'm betting that the installer on Debian6 is running into DMA issues and
then the system hangs.
