Package: console-setup
Version: 1.68+squeeze2
Severity: wishlist

If the variable $KMAP is changed in the file
"/etc/default/keyboard", the file "cached.kmap.gz" is
unnecessarily created.

The execution of "ckbcomp" takes some time so the user should
be informed. Also if there is something unusual going on.

Thanks for your report. I've just checked this bug has been fixed after
version 1.71 of console-setup.
