In the current wheezy netinst image the message "Detecting link on
${interface}; please wait..." has incorrect Russian translation
"Выполняется поиск ссылки на ${interface},
подождите...". It is incorrect and misleading, I've managed to
understand what is really happening only after the third time. This msgstr was
committed by yuray-guest as r66491. Some explanations for the translators
follow.
Link detection это не про ссылки, это проверка,
есть ли сигнал на сетевом интерфейсе. В
случае Ethernet, например, это выражается в
наличии в порту кабеля, другим концом тоже
воткнутого в включенное устройство, при
этом на сетевой карте обычно загорается
лампочка LINK.
