Bug#628125: Can not install 6.0.1 on PC Sempron 2600

package: installation-reports

I can not install Debian stable neither 5.0.8 nor 6.0.1, neither from netinst, nor from CD set.

I have tried both automatic and expert installators.
Standard problems are segmentation faults on installation of base system in various places. I have succeeded to pass the process with 5.0.8 once, but system was not able to boot. while installing 6.0.1 netinst there is not resolved dependency problem during configuration.

In another attempts installation just hangs with dead keyboard and flashing together lights Caps Lock and Scroll Lock during base system installation. Only hard reset helps.

Debian 6 live DVD gnome just hangs on not finding correct kernel

Sorry for so general description - there has been several days attempts to install, without any success and without any reasonable signal of hardware failure...

I am afraid, it is not hardware issue - I have just installed Knoppix 6 on this machine without any problems
(I am writing this on this newly installed Knoppix).

There is something fundamentally wrong with last time installers of Debian stable ... I am really diappointed - I use stable Debian at work and testing at home...
What can I do to trace the problem?

With Best Regards :-)
