I did manage to get a net admin here to unhide the essid for me and
retest. Still no success. Other possibly relevant details:

- wifi card is an Atheros AR9285 by Azurewave (1a3b:1089) using ath9k driver
- the network is WPA2-PSK-TKIP+CCMP
- my squeeze system (i.e. not the installer) associates fine with
wpa_cli + wpa_supplicant

syslog excerpts (sorry if my edit job is a bit choppy ... i found myself
with no network and no way to mount a device to copy material to, so it
is hand entered) relating to wlan0 from installer follow:

netcfg[1680]: INFO: ethtool-lite: ethtool ioctl on wlan0 failed

... repeated several times ...

Messages like these last ones repeat ad infinitum.
