Package: debian-installer
Version: 20050322

With the i386 Binary-1 20050322 install CD being used as rescue...

The installer *really* wants to claim swap partitions. In particular it
decided it needed to initialize a swap device and refused to do anything
else prior to initializing it. This was problematic because RAID needed
to be initialized beforehand as this was swapping on a RAID device (what
use is filesystem security, if the kernel bugs out due to corrupt swap?).

Likely it was detecting swap signatures on one of the subdevices, but it
absolutely would not "undo all changes". Selecting that kept the swap
partition marked for initialization, as a result I was unable to do the
RAID initialization needed before swap initialization.

Hi,

Thanks for your report.
Closing as it's an installation report from a debian installer version
which isn't supported anymore.

Feel free to test and report any issues against the current debian
installer release (Squeeze RC2) which supports more hardware and also
it's improved.
Thanks!
