Do you have an nvidia card in that machine?

shows the same error from the nouveau driver on 2.6.32 kernel on an older
nvidia card.  So same kernel version squeeze uses.

Lenny would not have used nouveau.  knoppix likely doesn't either, or if
it does it uses a different kernel version.

One workaround suggested is to add the kernel option 'nouveau.noaccel=1'.

Also make sure X is using the nouveau driver or you can get conflicts
between the kernel frame buffer driver and X.
