Bug#615646: Stupid Q: How do I know which CD has the package I need?

Package: installation-guide

Version: 2010

Severity: minor

QUESTION:
I burned the first fifteen (15) CD's and GNU/Emacs, which I want to install, is not on them. How do I find out which CDs I need to burn? (There are 37 more in cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/6.0.0/i386/iso-cd/ and I used to burn all the CDs for a release but am too lazy to burn all 52 discs this time, I only burnt the first 15.)

I looked through this but didn't find an answer: releases/stable/installmanual

This looks like a good spot to find what information I'm looking for (perhaps add a "4.2.2. How to Determine Which Images Have Which Packages):
4.2.1. Where to Find Installation Images

Currently (February 2011) section 4.2.1 has one sentence:
"""The installation images are located on each Debian mirror in the directory debian/dists/squeeze/main/installer-i386/current/images/ — the MANIFEST lists each image and its purpose."""

HELP: PLEASE PROVIDE SOMETHING LIKE A LOOKUP TABLE THAT CROSS-REFERENCES PACKAGE NAMES WITH CD NUMBERS.

NOTE: I read this one but it fit::: """#291453 [n| | ] [installation-guide] Information on how to obtain images needs reorganization""".

NOTE: http://www.debianhelp.org/node/1596
has the same question: "How do I know which CD has the package I need?"

THANKS! rcymbala
