Comments/Problems:

I tried booting from the disc on two computers with the same error message:

EDD: Error 0100 reading sector 517714, Invalid or corrupt Kernel image.

When I insert the disc after the computer is booted up and run the install program, it appears to work OK. I quit the install where it asks for the desktop environment (gnome), so so far it looks like it is working, but I quit because my intention was to give the live program a try.

I am a linux newbie, so I hope I have included all applicable information. Thanks.

Hmm, so that was quite certainly a medium error somewhere. Thanks for
your perseverence (en?) testing..:-)

I guess the checksum of the ISO would be OK.... I more suspect a quite
repetitive medium error (or a problem with the CD/DVD reader on the
target machine(s).
