I used expert mode. The install went relatively smoothly. I was mildly surprised to see no option to install an sshd and complete the installation over the network, a feature of lenny's installer I have come to use a lot. I've listed Clock/timezone setup as E -- it didn't ask me if the clock was in local time or UTC, despite being in expert mode. After the reboot the system came up fine but then X failed with the display corrupt. Fortunately I had installed sshd so was able to log in remotely and discover the following in dmesg: [ 48.335971] platform r128_cce.0: firmware: requesting r128/r128_cce.bin [ 48.429909] r128_cce: Failed to load firmware "r128/r128_cce.bin" [ 48.429938] [drm:r128_do_init_cce] *ERROR* Failed to load firmware! [ 48.430016] [drm:r128_cce_stop] *ERROR* called with no initialization This driver is in the firmware-linux-nonfree package which I had not been prompted about or warned about during the install. Once I had installed that driver and rebooted all was well. I'm not planning on using the system for anything serious in the next few months, so if you want I can probably test a later version of the install media. J.
