There is multybay (doc station) but without a floppy. Lenny istaller works fine: the same step, waits couple seconds and goes forward. This may have nothing to do with the floppy access. You may need to describe at what step exactly the hang happened, what was shown on the installer screen and even try with another CD (or another install type).
