Comments/Problems:
- the system has one disk connected to the chipset IDE controller:
it is /dev/sdc in the list above. The system is configured to
boot from this disk. Additionally, it has two identical disks
connected to an onboard Promise PDC20256 UDMA133 controller
used as LVM on RAID-1 to install squeeze. The grub installer
wanted to use one of the RAID drives, I had to switch to expert
mode and force it to install onto the boot drive. I would not
consider this a bug, however, as the installer could not know
  the BIOS settings.
- On the boot disk /dev/sdc, there are installed Ubuntu 10.04 and
Lubuntu 10.10. Grub installer only detected Ubuntu on /dev/sdc7,
not Lubuntu on /dev/sdc1. After reboot, 'update-grub' too did not
detect Lubuntu. I think this is a bug.

Some weeks ago, I tried to install Beta1 on this system, and the
partitioner locked up when I tried to setup the RAID. So this is
quite a progress. Thanks for improving the installer!
