after login has been entered i get:
tty2: can't exec /bin/login (or any other programm passed by -l)
when CONFIG_FEATURE_PREFER_APPLETS switched off
getty works fine
Theremore, this is an experimental option.

The current version (1:1.17.1-8) in squeeze does not have
this problem anymore, getty works as expected.
So closing this (2 years old) bug now.
