Comments/Problems:

PALO isn't very intuitive, but I eventually got the machine netbooted
using the serial console and the built-in Tulip network interface.
A normal network boot stopped with this error:

tg3.c:v3.86 (November 9, 2007)
tg3: (0000:30:00.0) phy probe failed, err -19
tg3: Problem fetching invariants of chip, aborting.

followed by a system alert from the HP's firmware.

PALO reports that the boot image contains 0/vmlinux32, 0/vmlinux64 and
0/ramdisk, but that it will try to boot 0/linux - however, it turns out
that editing the command line to start with 0/vmlinux64 causes failure,
and leaving it as 0/linux succeeds. No idea why this is the case.

Anyway, inserting "tg3.blacklist=true" into the command line avoids the
tg3 failure, after which the machine works fine. Presumably this is
because the tg3's firmware is non-free and therefore missing. It'd be
nice if the kernel wouldn't even try to load a module that will cause
an abort, though.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
