Comments/Problems:

This install went very well, just a couple of notes/suggestions..

Issue #1: Text-only console
---------------------------
I performed this install over the DL145 G1's management processor CLI.
Usage information about this interface is in the user manual:
  http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00083252/c00083252.pdf
Because this is a text-only interface, I modified my pxelinux.cfg/default
file to:
 1) Remove the "DISPLAY" field, because boot.txt includes the splash.rle
file which isn't displayable via the CLI, and therefore gives me a
blank screen instead of a boot prompt. It probably would've been better
to just remove the splash.rle line from the boot.txt file, so that I'd
still see the "Press F1.." text.
 2) Add nofb to the boot options

I'm wondering if it might make sense to make this the default settings for
the netboot flavors, since if you're netbooting, you're probably using a
remote console of some kind and therefore don't care about framebuffer.
I do not know of a way in software to detect that the install is occurring
over the CLI.

Issue #2: Network console artifacts
-----------------------------------
After I got networking up, I elected to complete the install over ssh
and experienced the UTF-8 issue in #356480. Since it may not be clear
to most users how they might switch their terminal to UTF-8, I suggest
that we add terminal-specific instructions for a few popular terminals.

Here's a patch for gnome-terminal - if you're ok with this, let me know
and I can commit it.

what the installation system uses. If you do not, remote installation
will be still possible, but you may encounter strange display
artefacts like destroyed dialog borders or unreadable non-ascii

+selecting the "Set Character Encoding" menu item in the "Terminal"

 is as simple as typing:

Issue #3 - Failed installation-report
-------------------------------------
After the install, I went to file an installation report from the local
machine, but this silently failed (log below), so I filed this from
another machine. I tried upgrading reportbug and installation-report to
the latest in sid (3.28 and 2.18, respectively), but this problem still
persists. Maybe because I'm behind a firewall?

 .
This package contains libparted, the required shared library
used by Parted. This is a cut-down package with no normal
documentation intended to be used in debian-installer.
 .
Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and
PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw
disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which
are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16
and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap.
Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS,
UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems,
but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet.
 .
Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install
the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been
removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the
 default package.

This package contains the loop-AES loadable Linux kernel modules
 compiled for kernel 2.6.16-2-amd64-generic-di
 .
loop-AES can be used to encrypt disk partitions, removable media,
swap space and other devices. It provides measures to strengthen
the encryption: Passphrase seeds, multiple hash iterations, MD5 IV
and use of alternating encryption keys.
 .
Encryption keys can be stored in a GnuPG-encrypted keyfile, which
allows the passphrase to be changed without re-encryption. Keyfiles
can also be encrypted asymmetrically for multi-user access.
 .
This package includes the cipher modules blowfish, twofish and
serpent in addition to the default cipher (AES).
 .
If you compiled a custom kernel, you will most likely need to
compile a custom version of these modules as well. The package
loop-aes-source has been provided for this purpose.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
