didn't try it

Install boot loader:    [O]
Reboot:                 [0]

Comments/Problems:

Installer fails to detect network card, comes up with
a list of ethernet cards. I try the forcedeth driver
and it still doesn't work. Checked dmesg and says
forcedeth version .32 Onboard ethernet is RTL8201BL,
I use a Linksys Etherfast USB 10/100 ethernet (uses
Pegasis driver). That works fine and is autodetected.

On reboot I get the following message:

* Skipping already loaded module snd_als4000
setting up network...done.
* /etc/network/options is deprecated.
Setting up IP spoofing protection...done(rp_filter).
Configuring network
interfaces.../etc/network/interfaces:
misplaced option if up: couldn't read interfaces
file "/etc/network/interfaces"
failed.

Therefore, after the computer reboots after the
initial installation I do not have networking support
and cannot install the rest of the packages.

My /etc/network/option file looks like:

ip_forward=no
spoofprotect=yes
syncookies=no

My /etc/network/interface file looks like this in the
eth0 area:

# They will be activated automatically by the hotplug
system.
mapping  ^A
, interface         script grep
              map eth0

# The primary network interface
allow hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet static
         address 192.168.1.2
         netmask 255.255.255.0
         network 192.168.1.0
         broadcast 192.168.1.255
         gateway 192.168.1.1
         dns-nameservers 69.39.94.10

Thanks in advance.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
  the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
  D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
  fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
