Comments/Problems:

My Airport card wasn't detected; this is already dealt with I believe.

I placed an "E" in partition hard drives because my hard drive was
already partitioned; the initial setup for this was absolutely transcendent,
but I didn't format my partition and so I had to go back to the "
Partition hard drive" menu item (since the installer didn't want to
install on top of a semi-installed previous attempt). When I did so
all hell broke loose.

It doesn't seem as though the same menus/etc are used between the initial
setup and what happens when you select the menu item for partition hard drive.
I selected /dev/hda4 as my root, and then /dev/hda3 as swap, and in both cases
I said "leave my partition as-is," but swap somehow got the idea that it
should be mounted as /, and the installer complained. I then specified swap
as swap space and it proceeded.

These problems would have been avoided had the same setup been available
as when the installer first goes through, I think.

The real problem is what happened on boot-up. Here is the contents of
/etc/fstab:
# UNCONFIRURED FSTAB FOR BASE SYSTEM

I blame this on the weird partitioner I got on the second run through as well.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
