Comments/Problems:
Target config - boot off RAID with root, etc on LVM volumes built on RAID. /dev/hdc is installed temporarily so that I can get the system up and running. I intend to move /boot and /root to /dev/md0 and an LVM volume on /dev/md1 respectively asap.
Issues encountered:
-RAID config reports errors saving config info, yet allows config to continue.
-Inital install to RAID devices fails - unable to install initrd.
-EVMS modules config non-functioning, so no EVMS
-Partition tool wanted to re-write the partition table and format partitions every time it was accessed, whether changes were made or not. Ugly if you've already completed the inital install and are ready to reboot.
-Kernel on CD configured to support ide devices out to /dev/hdj and beyond. Kernel installed only supports ide devices to /dev/hdh9. I had to manually add device nodes to support half of my arrray (/dev/hdi). Then I had to remove the failed drives and add them back to the array, forcing a re-sync. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

As yet I have not been able to move boot or root to the raid/LVM configuration. Little grub documentation on how to configure this seems to exist. But I keep trying.

Dave

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
