Comments/Problems:

<had a hard time finding the networks that claimed to have the debian repositaries in Australia,
during that process I wiggled the ethernet cable, and it was loose, so it suddenly "discovered" the
network, which put funny text on the xcurses screen, and moved the listing for
ftp://mirror.eftel.com/debian/ over to the right hand side (white on blue ncurses)...and the error
message ("100Mbit ethernet card detected" or something like that) was in it's place - with white
text on black background instead of white on blue that the ncurses screen for the mirrors normally
has...it actually didn't find our DHCP server either, but I presume for the same reasons - the
ethernet cable needed to be wiggled....having been a previous debian installer, I must admit to
quite enjoying the automated process, but I do have one quibble. While I understand that it's not
everyone's cup of tea, I finally had got used to the things one needed to do to re-write the partition
table. With the new installer, I found it a little difficult to understand, it wasn't nearly so clear as the
old way, though the fact that it was fully automated did mean that I could just act like a newb and
do it that way, I just wish the old way was better flagged. I chose the desktop machine option, but
that was ultimately wrong - the computer is for an internet gateway firewall...so I have the home
partition away from the root partition, which is nice, but I'd have prefered to put /var/ on the (now
huge @ 15Gb) hda6 because logging is more important...I mean, because it's a gateway/firewall,
there's very little need for 15 Gb of /home, but nor do I want all my volatile stuff on /, you know
what I mean?, I'll just move /var myself, but maybe that could be an option - "minimal
install/firewall/gateway machine, not many users....of course, I didn't do heaps of playing around
either to see if the options I wanted were in there - I do more than this and am really busy at the
moment, so I wanted it to go as quickly as possible....btw - thanks for the great software, I really
love you ppl, yr software, and yr social contract>

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
