Comments/Problems:
Things have become better somehow with detecting hardware. Last week
when I installed Etch using netinstall Daily Build the installer practically detected none of my hardware correctly, video card, sound card, cdrom. For all I know this
would be the same.
This time I tried to install sid using businesscard CD. This time it
detected my hardware. The only problem I had was when it tried to install manpages-dev the screen turned red and I got error. It would proceed further so I had it skip that whole install system step and it booted up after installing grub. Now I get this error:
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/manpages-dev_2.25-2_all.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/man/man2/create_module.2.gz', which
is also in package modutils
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/manpages-dev_2.25-2_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
In all I want to say installing striaght to sid was a much better
experience at getting my computer set up. Thanks a lot for all your
hard work. :)
PS. If there is anything I could do to help ot feel free to ask

This package contains libparted, the required shared library
used by Parted. This is a cut-down package with no normal
documentation intended to be used in debian-installer.
.
Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and
PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw
disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which
are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16
and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap.
Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS,
UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems,
but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet.
.
Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install
the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been
removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the
default package.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following reasons: - it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian Installer. - indications in the installation report give the feeling that the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to D-I, which we can't easily identify. - indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component - it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-) - it has no information we consider useful The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet. In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be still present, please reiterate your installation test with a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this. You'll find daily builds at http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to install "squeeze" when prompted. If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent against installation-reports. Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian, past and present.
