Package: installation-guide
Severity: normal

Today I installed etch on a IBM Thinkpad where Windows
XP is already installed on, and I want to keep it for
some time.
Thus I want to use the feature to let d-i split the
only partition, which is on the system now, into two
partitions (aka reduce the size of the ntfs partition).

While preparing this, I noticed that there is no hint in
the manual, that in such cases man should use the defrag
program to put all data on the ntfs partition together to
one block.
(defrag program is only mentioned in chapter about
non-debian partitioning, but using defrag is also important,
when d-i ifself does the partitioning job, isn't it?)

Add some info on this?

Greetings
Holger

[House-cleaning on bugreports]

In this bug I asked if the windows tool for defragmentation
of harddisk should be mentioned in the manual.

Since it was stated, that the usage of defrag is not necessary,
I close this bug.

Thanks
Holger
