Bug#589676: [os-prober]
Hi,
> On my Toshiba A300D-14R, with Windows Vista, I have done some test:
> /dev/sda1 doesn't contain the Boot/BCD file
> /dev/sda2 contain the Boot/BCD file and:
I assume /dev/sda1 is your Linux partition. Right ?
> # grep "W.i.n.d.o.w.s. .V.i.s.t.a" sda2/Boot/BCD
> Il file binario sda2/Boot/BCD corrisponde
> # grep "W.i.n.d.o.w.s. .R.e.c.o.v.e.r.y. .E.n.v.i.r.o.n.m.e.n.t"
> sda2/Boot/BCD
> Il file binario sda2/Boot/BCD corrisponde
> both grep return a positive result
> /dev/sda3 contain the Boot/BCD file but the two grep doesn't return any
> result
Do you know what partition is /dev/sda3 ?
You may use the scripts described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/os-prober/+bug/476625
to identify it. Note that the scripts depends on Hivex which is now in debian sid/unstable (and maybe other dists)
