This happens a) when using "guided partitioning" and b) when partitioning manually and trying to create more than one partition Creating the first partition works without problems, but as soon as one tries to add another partition, the aforementioned error occurs. When one creates just a root partition (no swap etc.), the rest of the installation process works normally. Attached is a partman log from an installation attempt with manual partitioning. Creating only the root partition worked, trying to add an additional swap partition failed as described above. Regards, Karsten -- Gem.
