Comments/Problems:

After the standard (text) Install option failed completely, I tried Graphical Install which worked great. My only complaint is the touchpad operation. Windows was previously installed on the laptop and the tapping feature was disabled (by me, I hate it). During the debian setup I kept accidentally tapping when trying to move the cursor over the Next button (cursor moved very fast BTW) and then it would skip a screen since I also clicked the actual left mouse button. So I had to keep going back. I'm not suggesting you change anything because most people probably like tapping. Just giving you my feedback.

I used wired networking throughout the install. I wanted to switch to wireless after everything was running, but it doesn't work. It is related to the one error I see while booting, missing "b43/ucode5.fw", but once the desktop is running and I try to connect there is no further mention of that error. The average user would probably give up at that point. I tried going to the website mentioned in the boot log and followed their instructions for ubuntu/debian but that didn't work either (package b43-fwcutter doesn't exist?). So for now I'm stuck with wired-only.

Welcome to the wonderful world of wireless devices that need
firmware. There is mention of this in the Installation Manual but
indeed nothing more that we can do than having an option to load
formware from removable media during the install (which is working).

Given that your installation was a complete success, I do as
usual with reports for successful installations: I close the bug..:-)

This does not of course mean you weren't right to report. Knowing the
installations are correct is important for the d-i team.

Many thanks for your time testing the Debian Installer and reporting
your results. Have fun with your new Debian system!
