Seems like my bug report didn't read the list, because of the
attachments even though I compressed the syslog.
Bug number is 532572

Comments/Problems:
I choosed to install unstable in graphical expert mode.
I changed the vga=788 to vga=0x317, i.e. 1024x768x16
On the first try to install the base system, the graphical interface crashed in the middle and was restarted.
Console 1 shows some messages, screenshot attached.
syslog sayed:
Jun 10 07:55:00 debconf: ** Gdk:ERROR:/home/slomo/projects/debian/pkg-gnome/desktop/unstable/build-area/gtk+2.0-2.16.2/gdk/gdkregion-generic.c:1082:miUnionNonO: assertion failed: (y1 < y2)
On the second try it went through until I choose to generate a targeted initramfs.
syslog sayed:
Jun 10 08:10:16 in-target: update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.29-2-amd64
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: readlink: missing operand
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: Try `readlink --help' for more information.
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: mkinitramfs: for root missing /sys/block/ entry
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: mkinitramfs: workaround is MODULES=most
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: mkinitramfs: Error please report the bug
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-2.6.29-2-amd64
Jun 10 08:10:18 in-target: update-initramfs failed to create initrd image.
On the third try I choose to generate a generic initramfs but that failed with the same as above.
Then I just started from scratch and directly choose to generate a generic initramfs and that worked fine.
reportbug installation-reportbug gave me this:
Cannot find installation logs in /var/log/installer
/usr/share/bug/installation-report/script: 81: yesno: not found
I wasn't asked to choose a different location for the logs.
