Is the API/ABI so unstable that you're using the version on the library
package name?

I'd much prefer it packaged as:

 dmraid
 dmraid-udeb
 libdmraid-1.0
 libdmraid-1.0-udeb
 libdmraid-dev

Any reason to avoid the usual packaging schema for it?
