That is only 4 days.

Why does that hinder installation? All architectures use 2.6.30 in the 
installer. And the linux-image packages are not the responsibility of the 
D-I team.

That is also not the responsibility of the D-I team.

In general, you can *never* be certain that sid is installable, and 
certainly not the desktop task. The better option is *always* to install 
testing and then upgrade to sid afterwards.
