Comments/Problems:
Note: I have used the expert installation (the graphical installer was
broken as reported in #557387)
1) very strange problem with bootloader install
The first time I have try to install Debian all seem to go OK, but when
I have to install the bootloader (grub) I have an error that say that
HD0 is not ready. I have finished the installation process with "no
bootloader" option. After with Debian installer or Knoppix I was unable
to access the partition I have created and installed with Debian (I
always use ext3). It look like it was not formatted (very strange). I
repeat the installation from start (I delete the partition and recreate
a new one identical to the previous) and this second time all go OK: the
bootloader install without problem and the system was correctly installed.
I have had the same problem on the first install with an eeepc 1101HA
and the second install was OK. Here I have used the testing install for
i386 on a USB stick. Also here I have had the problem with the keyboard
described in the first point.
2) grub menu
On that PC I have installed grub2 and there is also ms-windows (sigh!).
In the grub menu was only present the two Debian selection. During
installation grub has see the ms-windows partition.
I have used
# update-grub2
to solve the problem
Note: in the others installations I have done I don't have a
ms-partition, so is the first time I had that problem.
Ciao
