Bug#547175: metoo: netinst cd fails to load bnx2-06-4.0.5.fw, possibly related to VFAT partitions on HD



Had a similar issue while installing on two HP DL360 servers using
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.3/amd64/iso-cd/debian-503-amd64-netinst.iso.

as shown below, issue seems to be related to existing VFAT partitions on
the HD from previous installs, then I may guess the installer could be
looking for firmware files on the first VFAT partition it can find, not
from the removable media it mounted, and get confused if there are other
VFAT partitions.

servers come with Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit
Ethernet cards, using bnx2 drivers and requiring firmware
bnx2-06-4.0.5.fw.

the first install went fine: the installer requested the firmware on a
USB stick, I had a little trouble finding it, and ended up downloading
the nonfree firmware package, installing on another system, and picking
the file from there (some hint from the installer on where to file the
firmware wouldn't hurt). 
the installer found the file, activated the network cards and continued.

installing on a second identical machine, the installer could't find the
file on the USB stick. I verified that I could manually mount it and
read the file.

after a few attempts, I continued with a network-less install. I noticed
that the disk (actually, a HW raid device) had a previous vmware server
install, with several VFAT partitions on it. 

I overwrote that with the default partitioning, then rebooted the
installer. at that point, the installer found the firmware on the USB
stick and completed with success.


hw-detect-1.71:check-missing-firmware.sh
calls mountmedia and then looks for loose firmware files on the media
(instead of udebs, as they were in my case)

mountmedia (when called with no arguments) mounts the first vfat
partition in the order defined by 
                list-devices disk
                list-devices maybe-usb-floppy
                list-devices floppy
                list-devices partition
