Bug#544745: debian-installer fails for squeeze/lenny on epia-ex motherboard
Package: debian-installer
Version: Daily build #3 for i386 02-Sep-2009 13:39 netinst ISO
I am trying to install Debian Squeeze on an Via miniitx motherboard -
EPIA-EX 15000G
(http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/embedded/ProductDetail.jsp?id=450) -
using the expert install. When it boots the kernel it gets as far as:
[ 5.037312] usbhid : v2.6:USB HID core driver
then hangs for a couple of minutes and then comes up with:
[ 63.884022] hda : lost interrupt
The hard drive light is constantly on and after another couple of minutes
the PC locks up completely.
The installed hard drive is an IDE and the DVD drive is an IDE slim drive
with a slim IDE ATAPI to SATA adapter. The kernel seems to pick up both
drives as hd drives rather than sd.
I have had no problem with Debian Etch or Fedora Core 8 (which the PC is
currently running).
