Package: installation-reports Debian-installer-version: 17/03/04, http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ uname -a: Not applicable Date: 17/03/04, 12 GMT Method: Boot from the 30MB i386 CDROM (businesscard) Machine: Desktop Processor: i386, pentium 4 Memory: 512Mo Root Device: IDE Root Size/partition table: Not applicable Output of lspci: Not applicable Base System Installation Checklist: Initial boot worked: [O] Configure network HW: [O] Config network: [O] Detect CD: [ ] Load installer modules: [ ] Detect hard drives: [ ] Partition hard drives: [ ] Create file systems: [ ] Mount partitions: [ ] Install base system: [ ] Install boot loader: [ ] Reboot: [ ] [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Comments/Problems: The network is configured correctly. I choose my local debian mirror ("Enter information manually") and I make a mistake. It fails. I "Go Back" and I get a new menu ("http" or "ftp") and I choose "http". Then a new list of mirrors is proposed where I cannot enter the name of my local mirror. From this state, I fail to retrieve the menu where I could enter the name of my local mirror. All the best. --Pascal

"manual mirror selection is hard to find" As said in the bug report the "Manual" choice is at the top of the list. I think there is no perfect choice here. If the default choice is at the bottom of the list of countries....then having "Manual" at the top will be hard to find....and the opposite is true as well. IMHO, we have the best comprimise we could have, here, and I don't think this bug is really a bug. --Attachment: signature.asc
