Linux will kill processes that takes up too much RAM, even if there is
enough swap space around.  Given that the NSLU2 has only 32 MB of
physical RAM, we run into this problem quite often.  I was told it's
possible to change the settings of the Linux kernel (so it won't kill
such processes), but nobody has volunteered to look into this.
