Package: console-setup Version: 1.13 Severity: important I notice my console fonts were not displaying graphics properly, so I reach to console-setup package. I installed it, select the below configuration and the the package installed as usual, but it stopped at configuring.... After waiting for about 5 minutes I did a pstree and found that setupcon was calling echo like this: /bin/echo -n -e \033%G This corresponds to line 144 in setupcon script. I then killed the echo process and I had a warning but the package did its job. I then restart the configuration using dpkg-reconfigure. Same problem. This is the pstree I got: console-setup.postinst configure 1.13 invoke-rc.d console-setup start setupcon /bin/echo -n -e \033%G I now kill the last process (echo). The warning is: /bin/setupcon : line 140: 14154 Terminated /bin/echo -n -e '\033%G' >$console done. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (701, 'testing'), (9, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18rs Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages console-setup depends on: ii console-terminus 4.20-5.1 Fixed-width fonts for fast reading ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.11 Debian configuration management sy ii xkb-data 0.9-4 X Keyboard Extension (XKB) configu Versions of packages console-setup recommends: ii kbd 1.12-17 Linux console font and keytable ut -- debconf information: * console-setup/variant: Spain console-setup/modelcode: pc105 console-setup/fontsize: 16 console-setup/layoutcode: es console-setup/codesetcode: Lat15 console-setup/dont_ask_layout: * console-setup/altgr: Right Alt * console-setup/ttys: /dev/tty[1-6] * console-setup/codeset: # Latin1 and Latin5 - western Europe and Turkic languages console-setup/toggle: No toggling * console-setup/fontface: Terminus * console-setup/compose: No compose key console-setup/fontsize-text: 16 console-setup/switch: No temporary switch * console-setup/charmap: UTF-8 console-setup/optionscode: lv3:ralt_switch * console-setup/layout: Spain console-setup/variantcode: * console-setup/model: Generic 105-key (Intl) PC * console-setup/fontsize-fb: 16

Hello: I've done some tries as to reproduce the bug, but I failed to reproduce. Most probably it has been fixed meanwhile, so I'm closing this one. Thanks. -- Raúl Sánchez Siles ----->Proud Debian user<----- Linux registered user #416098Attachment: signature.asc
