Hi,

I've done an netinst installation on an amd64 with the etch beta 3
(20060806) version.

If I've set up a raid device, and the partitioner needs to rescan the
disks, the raid devices always end up as "use for lvm", even when I've
already selected something else for it.

For instance, you set up the first few partitions for software raid, you
enter the software raid configuration and you create an md device, then
you say finish, you select that file system (ext2 or ext3) and say where to
mount it (/boot).

Then you go and create more raid partitions, you enter the software
configuration tool again, create your device, select finish. It rescans
the disks at that point, and for the first raid devices I've setup up
before, it now says "use for lvm" again. I'm not sure if it still knows
where to mount it, but I think so.

The same thing happens if I start the installation again, or use it in
rescue mode, it will detect my raid devices as "use for lvm".

Kurt

   * Clean up the initialization of MD devices. Together with the changes
introduced in partman-base (>= 124), setup of RAID devices won't be lost
     across partman restarts anymore.
     (Closes: #391479, #391483, #393728, #398668)
   * Load the necessary modules and scan RAID arrays during partman
     initialization. (Closes: #391474)
   * Add device_remove_md() in lib/md-remove.sh: it is necessary to allow
proper removal of MD devices when we create a new label on a disk
     (for example, during automatic partitioning).
