Bug#463199: debootstrap should make preliminary check if filesystem can use dev nodes
Package: debootstrap
Version: 0.3.3.2etch1
Severity: wishlist
It has been quite a while since the last time I used debootstrap, or other
programs that use it like pbuilder. I had forgotten all about having the
dev option enabled on my external drive. I think it would be nice if
debootstrap would make a preliminary check to determine if the filesystem
supports (and is using) the exec and dev options. This would save a lot
of time and headache for people who only use debootstrap infrequently.
