G5s are 64-bit machine, thus I should have used the install64 boot.  I
tried with that and the error is the same, just s/powerpc/powerpc64/...

I tested a newer image (daily built 20081017-10:19) and the boot problem
is fixed, on all three models (G3, G4 and G5).
