How far has this been tested? [1]
At first sight, this does not look harmful to normal CD installations,
but supporting hd-media acting like CDs does not feel that simple to me.
Among other questions, how good is this interacting with support for CD
sets?
[1] I still have not read any comments after the revertion of your
last commit, which obviously lacked proper testing.
