I am not even sure if it's a goal for partman to replace autopartkit. But if so, it should support atleast the same features.
I wish partman-auto-lvm would support the creation of multiple VolumeGroups from recipes, forinstance a $vg_name{ VG_name } tag in the recipes partman must then calculate the space requierments for the partitions using the same name, and create a large enough volumegroup, to contain the logical volumes. Reason for this is that it's quite common to have separate volume groups for system and data, and makes expanding easier. But most importantly, becouse autopartkit supports it. Regards Ronny Aasen
