Perl plenty support during installation?

Hi all.

I've a new udeb already working in a installer image and it installs
some packages, this packages use perl in some of the scripts it calls.
I've created symbolic links to the perl binary and libraries.
/usr/lib/perl and /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl /usr/share/perl5 from
the /target/usr/....

But when the scripts try to be executed it crashes. The syslog complains
about uninitialized values in some of the /usr/share/perl/5.10.... and
it can't find the Basename.pm but this i think i would have to make the
installation of the library.

So the question is how can i have plenty perl support and functionalities?

Thanks a lot.
