The installer currently does not support _any_ hardware that requires 
firmware.

You can either 1) do an installation without using the network, or 2) 
temporarily use a different network card during installation, or 3) find 
some way to manually copy the needed firmware files into the correct 
location for the duration of the installation (and make sure you also 
install the firmware package for the installed system before you boot 
into it).

Supporting this better in some way is on our todo list, but there is no 
ETA for any implementation. See the archives for the debian-boot mailing 
list for various discussions on the topic.
