Quoting 4m (amoebios@googlemail.com): > laptop connected via WPA/2-encrypted wireless network, doesn't find wireless > card, no option to configure. > > the wizard doesn't find the wireless card. it only shows LAN on eth0 and > Firewire on eth1, where "Intel PRO/WIreless 2200BG" should be on eth1. There may be two reasons why you can't currently install Debian through your wireless connection. One I'm half-sure of, another I'm 100% sure: - Intel 2200 (used to) need some non-free firmware to be present in order to work. I'm not 100% sure this is still true. You may then need to download the firmware files then manually put them in /lib/firmware in the installer environment at the very beginning of the installation process...that can be tricky..:) - WPA networks are not (yet) supported by Debian Installer (work is in progress for it and *could* be available for lenny), so you might need to downgrade to WEP at least to be able to install. Of course, WPA will be supported in the installed system (you need the wpasupplicant package).
